The Wrong Way Rabbit

The wrong-way Rabbit.

Author: Teddy Slater

The Characters in the story: Tibbar jack, tibbar jacks Mom, his teacher.

Places in the story: school, at home.

What happens in the story: it is when Jack the rabbit does everything the opposite way so that story is very funny

My Favourite part of the story was: when Jack woke up in the morning and sang to everyone and he put his corn flakes in a cup and his juice in the bowl.

Film Festival

Today we went to Sylvia Park Hoyts to watch all the Manaiakalani school films.

St pius x went to the back chairs where you could put your feet up or down. That was the first time I have been up on those chairs. Mr Coakley said “Sit back relax and enjoy the show.”

Sonya and Rachel came up and said “here are Room Three’s three word video enjoy”.

The other schools movies came on, they were cool but my favourites were from our school. The best one was was Room7’s ‘be happy’ song. I liked it because it was really cool when A’liena came out, she sounded beautiful.

Finally it was finished we saw Miss G on the way out, we all said Hi to her and she said Hi back to us. We went back on the bus and went back to school and we did a little bit of writing then our typing test till it was time to go home.

Kids for Kids Concert

On a very exciting evening Room three got ready to go to the Kids for Kids Concert in Manukau.

The first song that we sang was muppet the show theme. Then we sang happy days, it was a  very cool song.

Our parents were cheering for us. I saw my Mum in the crowd, she was cheering really hard for me, I smiled. I was really happy then it was halftime and we had a break. Our snack from Miss G was a biscuit and a freddo frog chocolate, it was yummy together. A while after we went back on the stage and the curtains opened while the parents started cheering for us. A slide show went on, it was about World Vision. It was talking about the poor people and we were singing for the poor people. After that we sang some more songs.

My favourite was the sister act medley because it was a gospel song. When the song finished it was almost over I was happy but I was sweating.

Finally it was finished, we lined up to go through this door. I found my Mum, she was waiting for me in the foyer. We went in the car and when we got home my uncle joe gave me $20, I said thank you and got inside the house and got my p.j’s on and went to bed.

Cross Country

St Pius X Catholic school participated in Cross Country on Friday 24 August. The students competed in it so that was very exciting. The teachers were the ones that were holding the flags and I saw the parents cheering for their children.

All of the children were sitting in their ages the boys\girls versed each other. Finally it was the nine year olds turn to run. Miss G had blown the whistle so the boys could go then the girls had to step to the yellow line then Miss G said “ready steady and go”. She blew the whistle and we ran really fast. When I was running I saw Mr Gaffney and I ran some more then I saw Mrs Modely holding a flag. She held it on the road so we could cross. I was so tired, after awhile I started to jog and I was running with my friend Ierei. Ierei said “I am really tired” and I said “don’t give up, try your best”. Suddenly I noticed we were almost at school then I saw Miss G. There was one thing that I didn’t know….....we had to go around the courts and I saw Siniva from Room 6. I past her and I went around the cones and back to my line.

At the end of it I was puffed, it felt like I was going to die.

Olympic Torch

I saw someone running with the torch then I saw these flaming petals on T.V suddenly it was turning around the Olympics has begun.

The olympic torch looks like a flower, it sounds like a roaring sound and it feels hard and hot.

It is seen at a stadium all around the world and it brings all of the countries in the world together.

It flames up because the gas is on that is why it hasn’t gone out, it only goes out at the end of the olympics.

It is special because it is a symbol of the Olympics.

When the Olympics are finished the people put out the torch
till the next Olympics.

My Netbook Description

My netbook is really helpful because it helps me learn better. I can carry my netbook when I’m going home or even when I’m going to school, I also learn new things. My netbook looks like a mini laptop and it is black, it also feels rough. My netbook sounds like a shushing sound and the most important thing about my netbook to me is that I love it.

When you use a Netbook you can work on it and it helps you learn new things, it gives access for you to go on to the internet. It also helps you with your learning and it gives you information.

You use your Netbook to help you get into the internet easily and it’s a learning tool and you use it carefully. You also have to respect it.

We are some of the first people in New Zealand to use Netbooks for our learning and it is special to me because it is the thing that helps me do things.

When you use your Netbook you have to be responsible for it and look after it.

Imagination Story

One beautiful day my parents told me to dig a hole in the back yard. Once it was done a  second later I felt a crack in the ground. I was very scared and then boom! I fell down a big, big hole. It was like a water slide without the water.

When I landed, I looked around, it was cool. I looked one more time and there were no houses and no trees. I said “anyone here?” I said one more time “anyone here?” and kept on walking, it was a long walk. Until I saw a big hole I stepped on something and I accidently slipped into it and it was scary. I landed on some  trifle, I looked around and I was shocked when I saw everything. I saw lots of houses  made of candy, there were trees that were made of candy even the food that the people eat was candy. I thought “yay, I get to eat lollies all day”. When I looked at the people they looked the same as human people but they wore lollies for clothes which looked pretty weird.

I saw a shadow coming up to me, it was a snow fairy I was really, really shocked when I saw her and it started to rain jellybeans. I said “mmm” as the jellybeans fell out of the sky. Then it gave me a present it was a baby dove in a pink box with a black ribbon then the snow fairy said “close your eyes and when you get home tell your parents to buy a bird cage for the dove and in three days you may be rich.”

I closed my eyes really hard then I opened my eyes and I was in my bedroom. I said “that was crazy” then my Mum came in the room and said “what happened in here?” and I said “I was in a weird world” but
she didn't believe me.

Pigeon: Impossible

Pigeon: Impossible
Plot: It’s about a secret agent named Walter then he sat down on a bench eating a donut when a pigeon came along and it wanted the donut. The man gave her a little bit but she wanted the whole thing. The pigeon gave him a slap on the face then she fell into the suitcase. When it was inside the suitcase it was pushing all the buttons.

Problem: The bird fell down in the briefcase and the bomb came out and was about to blow up Russia Moscow

Solution: Walter dropped the doughnut and the bird followed it to the ground and the bomb blew by shooting the mistle

Your opinion of the story: I like it because it is funny my favourite part was when the bird was hitting all the buttons.

Kowhaiwhai Pattern

Kowhaiwhai pattern is the painting we drew with paint. Reuben Paterson was the one that inspired us to draw Kowhaiwhai patterns. The part that I enjoyed was when we were painting because it was drawing and I like drawing. The part that I found difficult was when we used the pastel because it had been a long time since I’ve used it.
